Meet our School Security Personnel: Officer Shawn Knepper, Officer Sam Grimm, Officer Dan Sadowski and Officer Derek Stitt. Ligonier Valley School District is pleased to have these fine officers serving our schools to help ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff.
School Resource Officer
Ligonier Valley High School
Officer Shawn Knepper is a Ligonier Valley Police Officer trained as a School Resource Officer by the National Association of School Resource Officers. The collaboration between LVSD and LVPD was to choose an officer to be woven into the Ram community to provide enhanced safety but also to bridge the gap between the youth in the valley and the law enforcement community by becoming an informal mentor, teacher, and role model.

School Security Officers
Laurel Valley Elementary
Officer Sam Grimm is our School Security Officer at Laurel Valley Elementary School. He served 23 years with the Pennsylvania State Police as a patrol trooper, field training officer, firearms instructor and collision investigation including reconstruction. Officer Sam was also a first responder most of his life. He volunteered with Saltlick Twp VFD as an EMT and as a paramedic for ten years.Ligonier Valley Middle School
Officer Dan Sadowski is our new School Security Officer at Ligonier Valley Middle School. He retired from Warrington Township Police Department after 25 years of experience in law enforcement and received numerous letters of recognition, commendations and awards throughout his career. Officer Dan looks forward to working with our staff, students and families to build a positive school community.
