School dance begins at 7:00. Doors will not open until 7:00. Also, the bus lot by RKM and middle school parking lot is being used by the preschool parents on October 27th for a trunk-or-treat. You are unable to park in the lot to wait for the doors to open, so please arrive promptly at 7:00 and pull up to the gymnasium (doors 1&2) to let your child enter the dance. Please be careful and watch for pedestrians when pulling into the lot. Reminder that the entry fee is $5, which goes toward our student council. The students are permitted to wear costumes.

Dances are held as an extension of the school’s physical education and bullying prevention programs. The purpose is to promote physical activity and positive socialization. Dances are held for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Ligonier Valley Middle School students only. Guests may not attend.

There are safety rules in place that govern all dances, including and not limited to the following:
-No student is permitted to leave a dance early unless one of his/her parents comes to the door and requests for him/her to be released.
-If a student is riding home with another parent or sibling, a note should be written and given to one of the chaperones.
-Students should not walk home after dances. There is limited lighting in areas on Bell Street that make it difficult for motorists to see learners who may be walking.
-Chaperones may refuse entry to or remove any person from a dance at their discretion.
-Phones are permitted but will be taken if used inappropriately.
-Students who are absent from school on the day of the dance are unable to attend.
-Students with outstanding detentions may not attend dances until their obligations are met.
