Letter from Superintendent - March 23, 2020

Dear School Community:

I hope that this finds you and your family and friends well.  I write this to inform you that  Governor Wolf has extended the school closure order until at least Monday, 4/6.  The order indicates that schools would remain closed to learners for an additional 2 days to allow school staff to resume regular business operations and to prepare classrooms.  I am aware that this results in LVSD learners returning to school on the first day of the originally scheduled Spring Recess.  In the days ahead, we will be reviewing the school calendar to determine potential revisions.

In an earlier announcement, the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) released that the PSSA and Keystones would not be implemented for the current school year.  Today, PDE extended that announcement to include  standardized testing for learners attending career and technology centers have been cancelled for 2019-20 (NOCTI and NIMS).

We will continue to update you as information is received.

Stay safe,

Dr. Oldham
Superintendent
